Will video help or hinder your website? Will your face be what you need to push customers to buy, or will it scare them right out of Internet Explorer?! hey Nick, that was a great video, just like you I spend a lot of time on my car and I also am able to listen to podcast while working but can’t watch video, but I think that if I had the time I wouldn’t mind watching the video podcast, as long as you do an audio podcast of it for when I can’t watch it. I think you have the voice and the face to do a video podcast like I said that video was great, so if you ask me if you should do it, I would say yes, if it works for you I think you should do it. Thanks for the advise for all of us about deciding if video for our sites would work or not.

Hey Nick – good video! I am in the same boat as you when it comes to consuming video podcasts, since I usually listen when I’m at the gym or walking I prefer audio only.
Usually, I am only willing to watch something like one video podcast each week since it demands *all* my attention.
As a publisher, I have started releasing screen casts as my “video” – since my crowd seems to like seeing how things are done. But, they are always very short; I keep them down to 5 minute “how-to” type things.
btw: my crowd overwhelmingly wanted screen-casts/video and I had no idea until it came out of a survey I did with my audience. So, it may be a good idea to include a “content delivery preference” question the next time you survey your audience if you can.

Michael, Thanks for the positive feedback! I suppose I should have included another caveat in my video: If your audience wants it, then do it! If The Niche Show community would like to see more videos, we’d be happy to do them!

Thanks Matt! You’re hitting on two important points there. If the video, or any medium for that matter, is interesting enough to you, you make the time for it. I just find that a lengthy video has to be all the more valuable for me to make time for it since I cannot digest it passively like I can with audio. Good on you for making them short and sweet! You’re an Ace, man! The other thing is the screen casts. I agree with you providing high-value content in video that really cannot be done as well in type or audio. That is the key; using video as a tool to reach a new market or to provide your product in a value added way.
